Our District is located in the small community of Claude, Texas, 30 miles east of Amarillo, and in the southern portion of the Texas panhandle. With fewer than 2,000 residents, we are able to preserve an old-fashioned hometown feel. Our safe neighborhoods and close-knit community make this a great place to live.
Claude, Texas was organized in 1890, and named after Claude Ayers, an engineer who was responsible for bringing the first train through the area. Our town is rich in history and is currently the Armstrong County seat.
